Britannia Royal Naval College

Last week we were honoured to be invited to speak at the Britannia Heritage Trust dinner at the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth.

It was a privilege to share the story behind Britannia Sailing Trust and our long-term goal of to returning our Britannia to a working life at sea.

We are very grateful to Captain Andy Bray and his colleagues for their warm welcome, to Gerry Ward for his support, and to everyone who took the time to listen and engage with what we are trying to do. Getting people talking and thinking about the future of traditional sail training in the UK – and the need to preserve skills as well as historic vessels – is one of our key goals.

It was encouraging to make new connections and begin what we hope will be ongoing relationships.

Apologies for the not-quite-flattering photo. It was the only one we managed to get!
